Crown of Thorns
This project was a custom design for installation in the Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, Jonestown, PA
Probably one of the most unique pieces ever created by Iron Nature. This project was constructed with 400 individual pieces of sheet metal. Each part was forged into circular shapes and then welded to form the parts needed for the vines and thorns.
The thorns are 10" long and the vine sections are 1 1/2" in diameter. Four strands of vines are interwoven to create a twisted crown of thorns.
The final size of the piece is 6 feet in diameter. It contains red LED lights that project color across the vine sections.
The project is powder coated to a color of penny vein.
